My kids have pride flags and change their social media profile pictures to have frames with pride flags. They have friends who are all different parts of that rainbow, and one kid says she is straight, one says she is “probably bi,” and one is pretty young to talk about that yet. Even the youngest rushes to correct anyone using offensive language about queer people, and it is a regular part of what they talk about in daily life. I am SO happy that their generation has finally been the one mature to make such a normal and natural thing (loving who you do, being with who you want, and being yourself) a defended part of their world. I am proud that they all care about each other, and that the ones they generally don’t accept are the ignorant people. Of course people who don’t identify as straight and cis all still have struggles. I am just glad that there is less and less hate as time goes on.

I'm a TV and movie addict, and I write about this and that. I'm realizing my childhood dream of being a writer 50 claps at a time.
